Change in Action Week - Pioneer of Change FINALIST - Dino Michalakis

Dino Michalakis from the Hawkes Bay Lawn Tennis and Sqaush Club is a father to 3 children aged 7, 8, and 11 who love to play squash. Dino saw a gap in young female players locally, so started up his own squash coaching group with the aim to get more young girls playing the sport.

Dino has created an amazing junior squash community at his local club. He has 30 children with over half of them being females aged between 8 and 14 years old. These girls are now engaging in sport and physical activity every Monday evening when they otherwise wouldn't have been. The girls now often join in with organised tournaments and regular squash hits amongst themselves. He has built a try community of young players.
